PRESS4TRANSPORT now available on TRKC website!

PRESS4TRANSPORT is now available on TRKC (Transport Research Knowledge Centre) website. The Transport Research Knowledge Centre serves as the European Union’s key resource for promoting the results of transport research activities at a European and national level. Now that the two platforms are connected, they will create a synergy for the communication of transport research information and will provide users with an additional service that will enforce the promotional campaign of national and regional transport results accross Europe. PRESS4TRANSPORT is an initiative supported by the European Commission and Cybion is participating as the Coordinator of the Consortium.

PRESS4TRANSPORT: Virtual Press Office online!

PRESS4TRANSPORT Virtual Press Office, an initiative supported by the European Commission within the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Development, was launched on Monday, March 1st by Cybion and a consortium of partners consisting of professional journalists, university professors and other IT specialists, all with a background in sustainable transport topics. PRESS4TRANSPORT assists EU funded projects/initiatives communicate their surface transport research results to the media. It serves as a Virtual Press Office for project coordinators to visibly disseminate their research results, relevant news or any noteworthy topic to be covered by the media.

Workshop COLLECTIVE

On March 2nd, 2010, Cybion participated to the first COLLECTIVE workshop together with entrepeneurs interested in innovation issues and with an innovation and social web experts panel. COLLECTIVE is an R&D industrial innovation project funded by the European Commission within the 7th Framework Programme - Research for SME Associations. It is composed by pools of companies, universities and research centres from Italy, France, Greece, Poland, United Kingdom, Republic of Macedonia, Slovenia and Spain. The aim of the project is the development and the testing of the conditions for the creation of communities supporting each phase of the innovation process, by providing SME associations with an ICT operational platform for collective intelligence and emerging communities. Cybion is responsible for the research and development of semantic services based on the knowledge of users, projects and technologies participating to the platform.

Online Information Conference 2009

The Online Information Conference 2009 was held in London from 1st to 3rd December, 2009. This year the Conference had three strong tracks:
The Social Web - tools for conversation and collaboration in life and business
The Semantic Web - bringing structure and integration to the information world
Delivering Value - Information Professionals demonstrating and proving their worth. Each of the tracks have been keynoted by speakers who are leading their industry. The Online Information Conference offered a forum addressed to learning, debate, training development, technological assessments, experts talks, case studies and research and opinion results sharing.

Study on benchmarking of parental control tools for the online protection of children.

Cybion is in charge, on behalf of the European Commission, of a benchmarking study on parental control tools for the online protection of children. The objective of this study is to help end users, parents and child carers, to choose the most appropriate parental control tool that best fits their needs and will provide them updated information and market evolution. The study will be completed in three years and is realized in the framework of the Safer Internet programme. Cybion will work in collaboration with Innova Europe and Stiftung Digitale Chancen.

Cybion, together with UNESCO and PlusFormation, organized a training seminar titled "Online Educational Content Development Using the Power of ICT". This international event took place at Hammamet, Tunisia, from 28 Sectember to 2 October, 2009, with the participation of more than 15 field experts from Africa.

2009 Europe INNOVA Annual Partnering Event

Heraclion, Crete, hosted the “2009 Europe INNOVA Annual Partnering Event”, with the participation of almost 200 people and which was organized to gather the kick-off meetings of four new EuropeINNOVA projects. Cybion participated to the Horizontal Steering Group as a partner in the KIS-IP project, the EuropeINNOVA horizontal instrument to promote innovation in services.
